I went to autozone to have my Service Engine Soon Light code pulled. The guy pulled the code "P0455" and said it read something about an EVAC leak large? Something like that? What could this possibly mean?!

BTW the code means: "P0455 Leak or Blockage Detected in Evaporative Emission Control System."

Is this severe and fixable by myself?

Check the gas cap to make sure it's on tight. If it's not that let me know and I'll post a crapload of other things to check.

Ok rock on. So just take it off and put it back on? Stupid gas men! We don't pump our own gas in Jersey

First try turning it like you're tightening it and make sure it's on all the way. If it is, unscrew it and make sure it's not damaged or cross-threaded, then screw it back on, and go back to autozone and have them delete the code for you.

You can also just disconnect your battery, then leave a door open for a few minutes, to discharge whatever power is left in the capacitors. That will delete the code as well. If you get a MIL again after you fixed the gas cap, let us know.

Wow...what a dumb story. I still think it's cool though that they pull the code for you for free.

I'm going to be using my friends scanner to reset the code Tues. Hopefully it won't pop again...
