Obviously going to the Tremec from the AODE I have never had to deal with a shift light. the car I got to swap the engine had a shift light just bolted to the dash with nothing connected to the initial 10" wire.

The question is how do I install this? It has a 2-prong female connector on it.

This is the light, but I couldnt find any install instructions on it. I guess Im missing some parts for it:

Auto Meter

Thanks
RC

That cant be right....it's under $50 to buy the shift light new, and Im guessing everything you need to make it work comes with it

Ill have to check the other car to see if there is something wired in there. If it's $80 just to make that work, Ill pass!

i beileve you'll need DPSS Controler, since it's a digital shift light. Auto Meter

i'm not sure what they go for, but i wouldn't be surprised if it cost more than the shift light itself.

from what i was told , the digital lights are quick to response to the signal, or i should say the controler. but with all new and better products they will always rape the comsumers pockets.

truthfully i hate the way shift lights look in an interior. i do like how some people have mounted them in the dash vents, out of sight until the light comes on.
but in a safety aspect, when racing they allow you to keep you eyes on the road instead of looking down to check your rpm's.
just look into a regular shift light and sell that one.

Welll when I got this car, what I liked was that the shift lite was small and subtle, not TACKY. When I had the AODE and people would say how a ''real' driver has a stick, while at the same time owning a shift lite, my reply would always be something to the effect of
" if you were a real driver, you wouldnt need a light to tell you when to shift" My opinion was always if you REALLY knew your car, you would know when to shift by the feel and not by some light.

I probably will NOT be installing this.
