alright, im in the middle of doing my clutch install, i have the bellhousing out and the clutch out. all i have left to do is pull the flywheel off for resurfacing. my questions are, h ow do i replace my rear main seal? and is it ok to clean the inside of the bellhousing? cuz its caked with *****.

To replace the main seal, I stabbed it with an awl and pried it out. Then you coat the new one with oil, and tap it in very lightly, a little at a time around the edges until it's back in place. And absolutely clean the bellhousing. Just soak the hell out of it with brake cleaner, and it'll be good as new.

while i have not done this YET to mine, i also will be replacing my rear main when i get to my t-5 swap.
i have heard that you also need to use either loctite or some type of thread sealer on the fly wheel to crank bolts because oil can seep out of them......something to maybe make a mental note of..
