it's a long story so i won't get in details but it got cut bay a saw
it's the passenger side hard line next to the lower control arm we patched it up with a peace of rubber hose and clamps it stopped liking but today i was driving and the paddle would go to the floor and felt soft turned out it was almost empty on fluid

so my question is is there a "right way" to fix it or do i need a new hard line ?

you will need a new hard line.... There is way to much pressure for that rubber hose... What you could do is go buy a flare tool and flare the ends and then put your new STEEL line in between.. THis beats running all new lines......

I personally would only feel safe driving the car if I replaced the whole line.

Also, hopefully you already know this, but the car is absolutely NOT safe to drive right now. Do not drive it, not even a little.

Kilgore is 100% correct. That hose could burst with even the least bit of brake pressure. You can get a double flaring tool and a piece of hard line and do it yourself or have it towed to a shop.

You always have a choice. The right thing to do would have been to call a tow truck and have it towed to the shop. Don't mess around with faulty brakes because that is a good way to cause an accident.

i dont know if you can do this where you are at, but they make patch kits for lines. i forget what they call these exactly, but it comes with 2 ferrels, 2 compression nuts and a center sleeve. you place the compression nut on both sides, then the ferrels and then the center that has threads for the compression nuts to thread into. the ferrels acts as flares as your tighten the nuts into the sleeve. you might have to trim more of the line away for proper fitment. i had to do this on my 96 gt a few years ago. held good with no leaks. just another thought that could save you money.
