i probably built about 3 different CAI. heres my second one.

the maf connected to the 90 degree bend at an angle and after the bend to the fender there was another 90 degree bend in the fender pointing donwards so that the filter was at the bottom of the splash shield.

it looked good but i wanted to try something different.

heres my current one

its just stright pipe from the throttle body to the maf. and some more straight pipe after the maf with a slight bend into the fender and the stock K&N replacement filter right after the hole in the fender. you can see the rubber connector in the fender where the filter attaches. i noticed a difference from my previous CAI and with the radio low and the windows up, i can here the filter sucking in the air. i still have to paint the new one. probably a nice glossy black or chrome it.

hope that helps

i suggust getting an oil breather cap so you don't have to make a second hole, just one hole for the iat. also, my cai is just a straight shot from the tb, pvc piping, maf, then filter... i cut into the fender though.

I din't need to cut through the fender at all. I used that same plastic part that's between that wire shield, that's bolts o the MAF.

I used a sautering iron (to cut through some plastic), and a filter from Autozone (3in). I used some imagination doing it, and I think it's actually better than any CAI kit out in the market.
