Hi all,

Just have a couple initial ignitions settings questions that I was hoping to get answered.

1) Trigger angle/offset
When I lock my timing at 10 degrees and put my timing light on the balancer, it reads 10 degrees as well. This is with the Trigger angle/offset set to 0. I this makes sense to me as there is no deviation in the ECU locked timing and the timing light reading, but I just want to confirm that this is correct.

2) Spark output
Every video that I've seen has this set to "going high", but I've read conflicting information that says it should be set to "going low". Just need clarification on that.

3) Spark A output pin
Trying to determine if it should be set to IGN1 or WLED. Most everything I've seen is IGN1, but I just want to confirm.

Additional info
Currently using MS2/Extra 3.4.1 with Microsquirt

Thanks in advance for any help!

1 yes that is correct. The offset is to account for any variability in your commanded timing and your actual. So if you set it to 10 degrees, and you see 12, you need to program in an offset. There's a couple videos on youtube for setting this on a Mustang. Might be good to search and follow along as this is pretty important to get right.

2 Mine is going high.

3.) I have an MS3 but for MS2 i believe it should be IGN1 as the primary spark output.

Thanks for the reply! Whatever I lock the timing to in TS is what I read with my timing light on the crank. This is with the Trigger angle/offset set to 0. I think I'm good there.

Regarding the spark output settings, what I've found is that if you have a microsquirt then the spark output settings should be "going low" and "WLED". If you have a megasquirt then it should be "going high" and "IGN1". I found this information searching through the forum, but I can't find anything in the microsquirt guide that confirms this. The quick start guide say "going high" and makes no mention of the other setting.

Check this video out. 7:45 shows the ignition settings, but watching the entire video may be of value to you
