Alright I don't need help with the actual install unless somebody has some tips for me. I have gotten tons of information off of this site about doing the install and I am confident in doing it. So I tried it and the stock bolts will not come off. How tight are they? I was using a 1/2 racket with a pipe on the end that extended it about 1'. Am I just not strong enough to move these bolts or what? Will an air rachet work? I really want to get these put on, but I cannot afford a shop to do it. Any suggestions?

If you put a 1/2 on it with a breaker bar and nothing then an air ratchet will not work. If you have an impact gun that would be better. You can also try getting a longer piece of pipe. Go for about two feet on the breaker. Also try spraying them with PB Blaster and let them sit over night.
Oh and about an hour before you do this eat plenty of carbs, do 50 push ups, then have somebody slap you around for a bit and get mad. Should come right off

I was looking at air rachets in one of my Craftsmans catalogs and the highest air rachet goes to roughly 150 ft lbs........I think me and my friend was pushing near that. I was thinking about using an impact wrench, but I don't think it will fit up in there. Where can I find PB Blaster? And does it really work?

I sprayed mine with liquid wrench the night before and they came right off. Another trick is to use a jack to slightly adjust the pinion angle when taking the bolts out. Put the jack under the differential conver and lift just a little. I bent the first side when doing mine. Was using a hammer to beat them out. Slightly adjust the pinion angle and the bolts pull out with your fingers. You will not find these bolts anywhere but the dealer. Believe me Ford is very proud of them to. They only come in a set of 4 and they're $40 bucks.

Exactly. I used 2 floor jacks to (one under the control arm and one under the diff) it was a piece of cake. Bolt came right out. As for getting that nut loose...i just beat the hell out of it until it came loose.Rocketman said:

Now this may seem kinda stupid to ask, but are you sure you were loosening, not tightening? The old righty-tighty lefty-loosy thing? A 1 foot cheeter bar with leverage should give you about 200-250 ft-lbs for the average guy. Mine were no way near that tight on my 01 GT.
YA I made sure I was loosening and not tightening. You also have to think I am under a car doing this, not pushing down. And also I am only 115 lbs, strength is not my high point. HAHA. I am going to try all of these tips and go buy some PB Blaster today. Thanks a lot guys. I will post again if I have any more problems or I actually get these things on.
This might sound dumb. Are you sure you are loosening the nut on the bolt or are you trying to loosen it from the bolt head? The nut should be on the outside(closer to the wheel). I had the wrench on the bolt head and I couldnt get it off so I asked my dad for help and he was like "what the hell are you doing? Put the wrench on the nut!" It came right off.

Ha! Lovin the obvious info in this thread, this is great! - sensible stuff that we all forget from time to time. (Getting all twisted underneath the car does strange things to the brain, that's for sure) BTW Steeda2004GT, Advanced Auto Parts does carry PB Blaster if you have one of their stores near you.
