I just found an awesome deal on a complete set front and back leather seat covers including head rests for $249. This sounds too good to be true but it really is. It seems Galpin Auto Sports is selling them from what came out of the GT's they used to build the Iacocca Silver Anniv. Mustangs.

Have any of you guys ever done a seat repair job? How much of a pain is it?
Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I already ordered them so if I can't do it myself I'll have a local shop do it. Any recommendations for a shop in the Sterling Hts. MI area?
I think I'm going to go for aftermarket heaters too.

Here's the link if anyone's interested:

Not hard at all, I did mine in about 5 hours with basic hand tools. If you have some hog ring pliers(for the hog rings on the base of the front seats) it makes it a lot easier, but if not it's still no big deal. Do a search for "leather seat covers" and you should find plenty of info...

My upholstery guy wanted $200 to do a set. Cheap if you ask me. I would not hassle with it for that price. I ended up trading cars and never did it.

Thanks

Thanks for the input. They're supposed to arrive on friday. I'm going to give it a try myself over the weekend starting with the back seat. Saw some online vids and other demos on the internet which don't look too difficult. If I fail no big deal I can have it done by a pro and still be way ahead of the game in overall cost. I wish I would've found these covers sooner.

Yeah man, don't be afraid to do it yourself, all it will cost you is time and you can use the money you saved to put toward another mod!

I purchased from my local Ford dealer a set of custom seat covers in what do you call it crushed velour and they fit like a glove. They imo are 100x more cumphy than the leather or cloth. You really cant tell they are covers unless you look for it. They only offered two toned patterns but the guy ordering for me got them to do a solid black.
