Help with maf conversion.

I have a stock '87 with the sd set up. I am wanting to go with a mass air set up, but I don't know which puter I need to give me "more power". I once was told to go with an '89 auto puter cause "the auto will give you more power due to it being programed for mor parasitic loss". Is this true or just a load of bull s**t?

sounds kinda like crap, it has to be the A9L computer i beleive, that is for the 5.0 5 spd Mass Air.....

either one will work though from what i've been told...but, for a stick, the A9L is the proper app, the A9P is for an auto

I have heard that the A9P has more aggressive fuel curves, but I have also read about people on here that have used both only with 5 speed cars and did not gain a thing. If you have a stick you can go either way and be fine. Auto is A9P only.
