Hello,

i need help with my engine combo. I don´t know
whether the combination of my parts is feasiblly.

-5.0 block (roller) zerodecked
- 5.4 forged probe -4cc
- 3.25 stroke
- 4.03 bore
- 0.039 head gasket (compressed thickness)
- AFR185 61cc (out of the box, this means .550 max lift)
- desired cam compcam XE270HR, 218/224, .512/.512
ABDC @0.006 65/@0.05 39
- EFI
- car weights 3100lbs
- 3.55 rear and five speed tremec TKO
- 99% street use, that means good idle and low end torque
- max rpm 5800-6000

My computed static compression ratio is around 10.2 : 1.
My computed dynamic compression ratio is around 8.8 : 1.
Would be my cylinder pressure too high?
The use of premium gas is not the problem.
I´m confused with the cam and/or my math. I my calcul of
the DCR correct?
Is ABDC computed with 0.006 or 0.05 lift?

thank all for help.

Markus

sorry for my rough english!!!!!!

I will have to agree with others that will eventually chime here to get a custom grind cam. With all that money into it you might as well utilize it all with the appropriate cam

I would have the springs upgraded to .600 lift and go with the XE282HR. u should not limit the potential power due to valve springs max lift. I have seen 331 strokers run really strong with AFR 205's.

Go with a Victor EFI or TFS-R intake port matched.

Don't know about all ur calculations there, but my old 347 stroker w/ ported AFR 185's, ported Downs intake, Comp Cam XE282HR w/ 10.3:1 comp put down 400/400 @ the RW, NA on pump gas. It had SRP flat tops.
