Cool. It helped when I looked at the instructions and saw that the exploded view was with no screen. My FIPK is on and sounds awesome, it even changed the exhaust note a bit. The blower whine sounds way better now! Best $159 I've ever spent.
Just disconnect the negative terminal for a few minutes & then reconnect it - some people will wait a longer period of time but it doesn't really seem necessary (ie - overnight).
Disconnecting the battery to reset the PCM is suggested by most, if not all, aftermarket CAI manufacturers so that the car's computer can re-learn some of the parameters associated with the new airflow characteristics.
No, but I found it funny that KTP Dave couldn't find the right kit for a Cobra on the website mentioned. I was able to go right to it by following the on-screen prompts?
As for your comparison between the K&N FIPK and the MAC Straight Shot... What kind of comparison can you do??? One is a CAI (K&N), while the other is a 95MM MAF/CAI.
