Ok guys, i having trouble with my parts list. I am going to get a trick flow track heat intake and 70 mm throttle body here soon. Im haveing trouble figuring out what gaskets i need. I need the lower intake to heads and block gasket. I also need the throttle body gasket and the two sensors on the throttle body gaskets. I dont know which ones. Also what exactly does the timing light do. Is it just a light to see where the marks are or what, Please explain that to me.

I used the FelPro FEL-MS93334 gasket set for the lower intake. I only used the ones from the lower to the heads. For the front and back I just used a thick bead of RTV. I would just go to Advance Auto Parts or Autozone for the TB gaskets.

http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=FEL-MS93334&searchinresults=false&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&N=115&target=egnsearch.asp&x=25&y=7

The timing light is a strobe light that is synchronized with your #1 spark. When you shine it on your harmonic balancer, it will give you a snapshot of where the timing is with respect to TDC. The HB has marks on it that you can move with respect to the fixed marker by rotating your distributer.

Hope that helps.

The trickflow intake will use the FelPro 1250 for the lower to heads gasket. DON'T get the MS93334, its not correct. I used all 4 pieces and RTV.

The track heat will come with a 75mm opening, so get a 75mm TB.

You'll also need the adapter elbow for sn95 applications.

The intake will come with all the necessary gaskets EXCEPT the egr and t-stat gasket. I got mine at NAPA for about 2 bucks each.

You'll also need 4 5/16s bolts, also from NAPA, for a couple bucks.

Finally, you'll need some vacuum plugs because the kits are made for fox bodies, which have more vacuum tubes then we do. Not sure about sizes, been a while. NAPA again to the rescue.

Interesting. The first time that I installed my intake I used the Felpro 1250 with all four gaskets. The front seal leaked oil bad enough for me for me to want to redo it, but not so bad that I couldn't wait about a year to do it. After reading and talking to a few people it seemed that using RTV instead of using the front and rear gasket was the way to go. For me, the RTV worked much better than the gaskets. I'm sure that there is a "right" way to use the gaskets and make them work. Also, my intake is a Edelbrock Performer, not a TrickFlow so there may be a difference there as well.

The big difference that I can remember between the 1250 and the MS93334 is that the front and rear gaskets were rubber on the MS93334 and regular gasket material on the 1250. The gaskets between the head and the lower seemed like they were about the same between the two types. I do remember people saying to absolutely not use the rubber gaskets on the front and rear. Maybe they are ok for the stock lower?

Well, the trickflow installation instructions recommend using all 4 pieces but to make sure to use RTV around the corners and to run a bead on the front and back to seal that up really good. I just followed the directions and everything went together really nice.

The trickflow directions specifically call for a 1250 gasket set.
