Let me just say...yes, I used the search function. however, being on my father's computer in the land of low tech (southern GA) - sometimes the search feature works, other times the computer locks up.

Onto my question:

I have a manual mustang II rack in my 66 mustang. The engine is a 302. Headers are longtube 1 3/4".

Now, I need a steering column, rag joints, shaft, etc to complete the project. I contacted Flaming River and they said there are NO issues with header clearance with their steering shaft for this setup...although, I have heard otherwise...anyone have an opinion?

What other options are there for the column and the rest of the setup? IDIDIT? or another brand? I am not worried about spending 5-$600....I am worried about fit with my headers.

help

Flaming River is full of it..... There are major clearance issues with my Hooker Super Comps 1 5/8". Lets just say that the PO on my car had to "adjust" a header primary tube.....

Stay far far away from the flaming river turd....

So what are my options here?

Might have to buy a kit and 'massage' my headers?

looks like there is no definitive answer on this one.

I am going to bite the bullet. My supplier says that he has a 'kit' consisting of a few rag joints, a shaft, a heim joint, and a bracket to adapt a stock column to a MII rack and pinion. A little over priced at $307...but still less than buying a column and all of the accessories. I will keep everyone updated.
