I just received my SCT package. I have down loaded the Live link and USB drivers but can't seem to flash read the stock program to my lap top. How do you pull up your stock file so you can make changes and then flash write it back into the EEC?

I have communication from the Xcal2 to my car. I've ran a hardware check on my lap top and all USB ports are working. But still no communication betweent the lap top and Xcal@.

First questions, I have:

Where did you buy the PRP Package from?

What version did you buy?( Chip, X-Cal-1 or X-Cal-2 )

You should have received a file for the mods you have done. You can make changes to that file with the software you have. Now if you have a chip, you burn that file on to the chip and install in your car. Unfortunately chips don't work on the 05+ mustangs, so you will need to change to either the X-Cal-1 or X-Cal-2.

Now if you have an X-Cal-1 or X-Cal-2, they store the stock file, which you cannot adjust. You either build a new file or use the one provided( if provided ) and make adjustments, and then save to the X-Cal unit. You use the X-Cal to upload and download from the car's EEC.

I have an 06. I bought the Xcal2 with Pro Racer Package. I bought it from Evolution Performance. He was not familar enought with the Pro Package to help me.

I have files set up and stored but none of the icons along the top in the Advantage seem to collect data from the EEC. I was able to click on the new file but had no idea where it came from because every other action to scan or burn, etc. results in a port error like there is no communication with the programmer.

I assumed that this meant that the file obtained from the new command was from a resource on the hard drive. Maybe that was wrong. In any event I can't seem to be able to do anything with it.

I have tried with the key in the on position but the engine not running but the results are exactly the same. Windows System shows no hardware errors anywhere or in particular the USB ports.

I am a pretty good with the use of HPTuners for my 98 Camaro system. Maybe I am expecting things to work in a similar way so if any of you can think of how to explain the flow of this program that might help. I received no written instructions on the basic functions and the Help files seem mostly to be about modifying the files and not how to flash write or flash read a bin file.

I tried over there but so far no help. I'll give SCT a call tomorrow.

I have a bin file set up ready to install in my Advantage. When I try the flash write (that's what I call it from HP Tuner) it won't connect and install into my EEC. That's when I get an error code.

I have communication from the Xcal2 to my car. I've ran a hardware check on my lap top and all USB ports are working. But still no communication between the lap top and Xcal2.
