this is just a general question about some supercharger problems a girl friend of mine is having on her ati procharged mustang...
her mustang is currently supercharged and running about 11 pound of boost and intercooled. However it has a HORRIBLE screeching/chriping sound comming from the supercharger itself ever since it was installed... I recently took a look and noticed that the piping wasnt even connected so it was just blowing air into the fender... woo! SO I hooked that back up. Also I noticed that the bypass valve is beyond impossible to move when the car is on. Isnt it supposed to be open when the car is at idle, basically allowing the supercharger to keep the intake pressurized but blowing back around into the intake side of the supercharger? Right now it doesnt even move... sometimes when you take your foot off the gas, the idle drops REALLY low... as if its sticking shut. Also when you turn the car off, you can hear all of her vacuum lines leaking and then the supercharger squeals as if the air is comming back out of hte system thru it... is the supercharger damaged and is there any way to see if it is damaged without removing anything serious? Removing the unit from the car isnt an issue, but I dont feel comfortable removing any of the covers off of it... also at idle the tensioner pulley bounces around, as if the supercharger is constantly "on off on off"...
