ok im sure yall have seen too many of this same exact quetion but i need the answer for what i have and i am so lost and need this car running soon! i've had a vibration after my clutch install for awhile now, and ive came to to the conclusion either i didnt line the transmission shaft up in the the pilot bearing right, or that clutch i have now just isnt strong enough(bought a cheap 1 from orielys). i pulled it all out for the 11th time now and the numbers on the flywheel reads as followed:
E1ZR-3380-AA
I was told in another forum it was an 81-85 flywheel i believe. im going to go ahead and order a high performance clutch kit being im pushing some serious horsepower for being N/A that is. now, which clutch should i get? part numbers would be real nice so i dont mess things up again.

thanks,
ryan

Well what is your N/A combo and do you daily drive this car?

That would help pick out the right clutch for you...

Not knowing what you have but I have King Cobra clutch on my "300"rwhp car...it seems to be doing fine...

um yeah, we need to know what year of car you have, what motor (stroker?) and so on.

and what is it doing and when (vibes only while moving?, etc)
good luck.

i dont know exactly what it all has done to it. being that it was my fathers before he passed away. it is a 1980 302 bored .030, keith black pistons (not sure what crank it has all i know is that it took $1200 out of my dads pocket), its got aftermarket connecting rods (not sure what brand or kind), im running edelbrock 351 heads, edelbrock performer manifold, edelbrock 650 carb for the time being (soon to be a 650 holley double pumper), it has a brand new t5 tranny, 8.8 rear end with 3:27 gears (also for the time being, soon to be 3:73 or 4:11), its got new rocker arms (not sure what brand or kind also), .520 lift crane cam i believe, msd ignition, thats pretty much all i can think of right now i do know that it makes 7.3 passes in the 1/8 mile all day long. and yes it is/will be a daily driver.

as for the vibes. they happen in every gear even neutral weather or not the clutch is in or out, and it still does it sitting still. it doesnt start vibrating until 2000-2500 rpm and on. ive had the flywheel machined twice, replaced pilot bearing, switched out harmonic balancers, intalled a firewall adjuster, and everything else "looks" good. the clutch was an oem replacement from orielys i think it was $120 for the whole kit. I think that covers it all :S
thanks again,
ryan

Sounds like a nice street setup...glad your trying to take care of it :nice:

Anyways...I'm making some more power than you and I have a King Cobra clutch and it holds up find and I drive every single day (it is my only vehicle) back and forth to school and work and misc. things...

On the vibes...it could be the driveshaft (if you were rolling and then put it in neutral)...or bad fan setup (clutch/broken)...balancer...motor mounts...tranny mounts...etc...

Good Luck man...
