Guys,

My wife was nice enough to get my car fixed for me for my birthday. At first thought it would be a simple blown head gasket job, but now it has become a major issue. The engine block is toast (due to rust that got into the cylinder 3). They claim the cylinder has pits in them that can not be fixed

THEN!!! They discovered that my driver side PI head became damanged due to what they believe to be lack to Cam lube being place on the head before the cams were installed. Pieces of aluminum were rubbed out due to fiction with the cam. Now the cam guildes are not true. The machine shop claims their is nothing they can do.

So my PI head that had a three stage port job by Fox Lake is now toast as well.

MY QUESTION!!!

is their any way to fix the PI head? It seems to me that their got to be some way to fix the guildes. PS I was going to put in new cams too.

any knowledge would be great.

if the head is damaged in the cam girdles then it's toast.

how long ago did fox lake do the work? and did they install the cams on the head? many times the bolts that hold the cam caps are overtourqed and this can cause the grdles and cam caps to wear into the cam. the soft aluminum of the head will get destroyed first.

No, Fox lake did not put the cams in, my friend put them in. He was getting married at the time so I think he was not paying attention.

So, is their any way to fix this problem? I understand that the local machine shop may not have a solution, hoping someone else does.
