Hey I new here and to mustangs. I own a 96 v6 mustang. My ignition is stuck in the run position or accessory mode and won’t cut off the key isn’t stuck or anything. So is the problem the ignition lock cylinder? And can an ignition lock cylinder from a 95 fit mine???
Your car has a lock cylinder and an ignition switch lower on the steering column, connected by a linkage of sorts. If you are able to turn the lock cylinder and remove the key, I'd suspect the ignition switch has failed. You should be able to get a new ignition switch from any auto parts store or Rock Auto. Google it for videos and drawings.
