Thats definately some good driving but I think i'd rather buy my way to the 11's a little at a time that way i'll appreciate it more. Besides I would'nt even drive my x that hard

I agree, buying speed is more fun than using skill.

sn98gt LOL, Although I wouldnt worry about me so much me hitting my 11's, If I were you I'd be more concerned about getting out of the 14's Besides isnt time for you to go for a ride on your new ATV, like maybe a long drive on a real short bridge :banana

He's not driving it too hard, not even power shifting, but I guess that with stickies in the back would ne a nono!

Ya he's running MT Slicks and launching at 4000rpms. He may not be power shifting but he's not letting off much inbetween shifts, also I noticed hes shifting around 6500 to 7000 rpms, I've been shifting between 6200 and 6400. Maybe i should set my shift light a little higher maybe 6600 and see what happens

Well it depends, you dont need to redline it in all the gears like ricers, check your dyno sheet and see where the HP line strats to drop and then shift around 300-500rpms more than where peak power occurs.

Thanks Paul, that would would put my ideal shift point at about 6700rpms,since my peak RWH is flat lined from 6 to 6300 rpms and then very gradualy starts dropping

If you have a copy of your dyno graph, preferably just the raw data actually, you can calculate where the ideal shift should be. It's all a matter of power under the curve, that's probably one of the best uses for the dyno really other than just measuring "member length". You may even find that the ideal shift point moves up or down a few hundred RPM from shift to shift because of the different spread between gears.

But Paul's method should get you in the ballpark, and either way you'll need to experiment a bit to find out where to set the light because of your reaction time.

Ya thats true Eric, if i'm paying close attention to the shift light im usally pretty close to nailing the shift at the set rpm, but if my minds on boost , fuel pressure ect.and the guy next to me in the other lane..lol, then sometimes I might miss by a few hundred rpms or so.Also your wright about different gear shift points, I have noticed in 3rd gear and 4th my car likes to go deeper in the rpms and responds better

11.4 w/ boost?? Gotta be kidding me. That guy looks like hes driving an 18 wheeler the way he's shifting. Pull up some NMRA Pure Street action, now that's shifting running 10.40's on a N/A 306.
