whats up guys, today as i was coming home my car started acting weird, i was getting on the freeway and gave it a little gas and it seemed like it was running out of gas or something and then all of a sudden the power would come back, a few minutes later the check engine light came on but then all of a sudden it turned off, then it came back on again, it did this throughout the drive home, i was going around 75 and it still seemed that sometimes it would just run of of gas, does anyone know what might be causing it? i have some suspicions but i cant really narrow it down, i just got my gears installed so i dont know if that might be it, i just got a newadjustable cable so i dont know if that might cause the clutch to slip or something, also one of my tailpipes is loose so i dont know if that might have ruined the complete exhaust or something, has anyone else had this problem??

My first guess would be the TPS (throttle position sensor). At closed throttle it should be at .9V then steadily increase as the throttle is depressed to about 4.5V. No spikes or dropps.

My second guess would be a O2 sensor problem, due to the MIL (check engine light) comming on and off like that.

Check codes and see what you find.

There is no need to keep guessing. Follow Jason's wise advice and see what code you are spitting.

Good luck.
