Hi,
After much talk and recently turning 35, my husband bought me a '67 mustang and I have some questions as I'm new to the mustang world. First, what are some good websites to purchase items from and can anyone recommend catalogs as well?
My other question is can someone specifically tell me what constitutes a GT package? Hubby was talking about changing the paint on the car, but not sure I want to do that and I don't want to put something on the car and make it a wannabe..if ya know what I mean.
What else...any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks and hope to hear from ya!

Catalogs to get are NPD (National Parts Depot) CJ Pony parts, Virginia Classic Mustang Summit Racing, Jegs and there are lots more. You didn't mention what parts you're looking for so I'm wrongly assuming standard mustang parts.

All of these catalogs have corresponding websites.

thanks, those should be good starting points. I'm not looking for any parts in particular per se, was just looking for catalogs/websites in case I want to add a little something here or there. I'm not sure that the car needs much other than an upgraded radio. Haven't seen it yet as it's coming from Colorado next weekend.

Sucked into the black hole. As far as resources go www.mustangdepot.com is where I do a lot of buisness. www.mustangsplus.com is another, however they have a reputation for being pricey. Just type in classic mustang into yahoo search engine and you should find several more retailers (BTW classics are 64.5-73). Also check out the magazine racks and buy the ones with classics on the cover, lots of info there, check the ads for parts, ect. StangNet is my #1 resource, lots of info, lots of intelligent people. I dont know what vondition your car is in, but if its you average old stang, you may want to start by changing to an electronic ignition module, getting new leaf springs, dual master cylinder if you dont already have one, shifter rebuild if manual. Got any pics of the car?

I too have had much success with Mustangs Unlimited. Virginia Classic Mustang has alot of interior stuff as well. If you are out west, one of our own, MDJAY owns Mustang Depot in Las Vegas.

I too have had much success with Mustangs Unlimited.

Mustang's Unlimited has recently become my favorite mustang parts vendor. It seems like most of their stuff is cheaper than anywhere else. I'm getting ready to buy a new Painless wiring harness and they're at least $40 cheaper than any other place I've checked and shipping on it will be free.

Get a Marti Report to be sure it is a GT.

The best way to get responses to questions like "so does anyone know the specifics of what's involved in a GT package?" is to post them as individual threads (topics). 67 is a very popular year so the sky (your wallet and your patience) is the limit on available modifications.

We generally refer to "wannabe"s as clones. Plug in "1967 Ford Mustang" at Collector Car Trader to get a feel for the various exterior asthetic modifications available.

What's the primary initial purpose for the car? Daily driver, weekend driver, or restoration project?

1967 GT package: grille-mounted foglights, powered front disc brakes, dual exhausts with chrome quad tips, larger tires, GT pop-open gas cap and a handling package with stiffer suspension and a larger front anti-roll bar.

And the most important thing of all; the motor was the first mustang big block; the 390.
