Hi All, I have owned many 67 and 68 mustangs but this is my first 66.
I have been told this car has a K code engine in it, I dont believe this, but I do believe it was built to K code specs. I have details, Im just trying to figure out which forum to ask post under.
I was also told this car has a shelby steering wheel on it, do 66 really have a true shelby wheel, identified by #s. Looks like a crappy plastic deluxe wheel with shelby center cap to me.
Steering wheel stamped,
C5ZA-13A800-D
11911
31550-H
Thanks for your help and please let me know where to ask or lay out the engine information.

How can i tell if this is a true GT car, Marti reports only go to 67s.

Pull a valve cover and look for "289" with 2 bumps or dots over the 289. One dot is a standard head and not a k-code. I search the part number you gave and came up a standard horn ring. This is a good reference book when you need to decode a car for options - BARNES & NOBLE | Catalog of Mustang ID Numbers 1964 1/2-93 by Cars & Parts Magazine | Paperback

this is not the tech section, if you came here to look for a specific question post it in the designated area. Go to the list of forum pages or the drop down bar at the bottom left of this page. Find the area your car belongs in and post in the tech section there. This is just a welcome page
