High idle after long drive?

I dirve my car 45 min's to my local track. I use the criuse. Sometimes when I let off the gas and hit the breaks the car still idles at cruise rpm. Kinda like if I had a carb with a sticking choke. Do I have a bad sensor somewhere?

our cars have a thing called "hanging idle" when i put the clutch it, my rpms will stay up for a sec before they drop, theres a way to fix it, but most people live with it i guess, hopefully someone will post how to fix

How long does it stay at that high idle speed???? momentarily or indefinately?

same here, my kinda wanna die when i stay at light or make a stop right after i started her.. she never dies tough but sometimes its scary

After a long trip it idles at cruise rpm for at least 10 min. I cut it off while driving on a strait away. That makes it seem to die sooner. I have never let it just stay at high idle long enough to see if it cuts off on its own.
