Here's the deal...My car idles great when I cruise around. If I decide to stomp on the pedal, my RPM's climb to about 2000 after I let off the throttle and stay there until I shut the car off and restart it. After the restart, it will idle fine until I get on the gas again.I tried the idle reset. Any ideas??????

A high idle that is fixed by an ignition cycle is a classic sign of problems in the TPS circuit. The TPS voltage is reset after an ignition cycle. Most of the time, the 10 pin (salt and pepper shakers) are the culprit. You will need to clean, tighten up, and apply di-electric grease to these connections.

1) Separate the connector.
2) Clean the terminals using contact cleaner.
3) Using a seal pick or very small screw driver, spread the male terminals and close the female terminals. Don't get carried away. A little goes a long way here.
4) Apply di-electric grease.
5) Re-assemble.

Over time, the terminals in these connectors loosen up due to engine vibrations, which causes multiple problems.
