Hi, guys,

I have an 01 GT, 5 speed(30,000 miles). And when the car is in gear I can hear a high pitch squeel from in the car. Just loud enough to bug me. If I touch the clutch it goes away or if I push it all the way in ig goes away. It only happens when it's in gear. What do you guys think?

You have finally been touched by the infamous Throw-Out Bearing bug. :mad:The sound you hear should also happen when the car's in neutral w/ your foot off the clutch.

My Throwout Bearing whistled for over 3 and a half years on my stock clutch in my 2K GT, but it never went out. Then I had the clutch changed to a SPEC Stage 2 Clutch and after 2 weeks, though a new bearing was installed, it began to whistle again.

I had the same problem with my 2000 v6 mustang. I took it to the dealer to have it serviced several times, each time with them saying they couldn't hear the noise. Finally after calling the quality manager and mentioning calling Ford to complain, they replaced the clutch cable and fixed the problem. I now have a 2002 GT and I can hear the same noise. I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble of getting it fixed again though.
