High Pitch Whistling/Squealing in Vents

I've been dealing with this problem for about 6 months now and I've finally taken into the dealer to be fixed once and for all... hopefully (with my 03 GT Coupe).

The problem is with an extremely high pitched 'whistling' coming through the vents into the vehicle. The whistling generally starts at roughly 35mph and gets louder with speed. Occasionally, if you change the vent setting (say from upper to lower vents) the whistling will subside or at least diminish in volume a little for a few seconds, then it gets louder again.

The last time I took the vehicle in for service, regarding this issue, the mechanic found the problem to be coming from the little air vents or wiper sprayer holes in front of the windshield. He taped them off and the noise went away. The problem was he couldn't determine how to fix the problem once and for all and I needed my car back so I couldn't let him work on it any further.

My question is, has anyone else experienced this with any new model Mustang GT Coupe? If so, what steps were taken to fix the problem or what recommendations might someone have for me?

If you heard it, you would understand why it bugs me so bad. It doesn't matter how loud the music is or how much road noise exists, it is such a high pitched squeal/whistle it drives me mad! :bang:

Thanks for any ideas!

Finally, a little closure

Apparently Ford has issued a service bulletin for this exact issue. It appears that the problem stems from a small intake on the car's left side. Parts needed to be ordered to fix the problem, but it looks like things should be resolved soon. When I get more info about the parts, etc I'll try to post everything in case anyone else is experiencing it.
