high rpm cutout in 1st gear

waht causes it..like tonight i was killin a civic but i noticed at a very high rpm there was somethin wierd goin on in first gear..is thAT SOME KINDA saftey for the motor

Need more details what RPM? was it passed 6250 if so you hit the rev limiter.

ok ,cool,ya ,musta been a limiter..didn't know there was one ..is it computer activated and how does it work? can it be bypassed and how do people blow up thier engine with nitros if it has a limiter

It's computer controlled a chip or a ecc tuner will take care of that problem. My question is why would you want to with a stock cam? Stock cams fall on their face at 5200 rpms. N.O.S if not properly installed and tuned will blow a motor and if you hit the limiter while using a N.O.S will force the engine to rev past this limit and find the weakest link and good by.
