High RPM Cutout

valve float can most certainly make a car fall flat on it's face, much like a rev limiter. Do you have stock springs with a gigantic cam? old springs? I think it's possible.........but others think I don't know what the hell I'm talking about

If they are the out of the box plugs for our cars, then they are .045 or .050, which will be too much on a boosted car. Definitly my guess for your car.
Also the platinum plugs are not recommended for boosted vehicles. I looked up why once, but forget. Something about not being able to take the extra heat and actually melting off the plug and the bits could damage other parts...

platinum plugs retain a fair amount of heat which can cause pre-ignition.
as far as the original thread problem goes, i would venture a guess at a fuel pump.

My guess is ignition. When was the last time the Primary ignition system was replaced?
Cap, Rotor, wires, plugs......

less than a year ago, all are fresh

well chris seeings how i have had the same problem ill take some odds, chris i bet you a case (bud light) its the coil.

Teh coil could definitely do this, I would think that for the wires to be the problem, EVERY single one of them would have to be bad, and I don't think that's as likely as the coil. Sorry, I don't know of any way to test it though.

well tonight i'm going to do a compression test, and test the voltage coming off the MAF. Hopefully i can either rule them out, or find my problem. Anyone got a stock coil
