im on a quest for the 13s n/a

its a 96 GT, all stock and i know everyones gonna say swap the heads, but i really cant for a while (kinda hard to not let the 'rents know your working on the car when they see you pulling the heads in the driveway) so is there any way to peak into the 13s with the NPI heads? off the spray

You would probably need to get 31 spline axles, slicks and launch at 5000 rpms. You really need to grab about 50 more ponies somehow. Every bolt-on still won't do it. You can always improve by getting a shifter and practicing your launches. Lighten the car, remove the backseat, etc.

Keep reading. The easiest way is unfortunatly, the dreaded headswap.

I know how hard it is with the parents.

damn, thats what i keep hearing, and yeah, i figured that the best ive ever heard of ford rating the 96-98 stangs at in the 1/4 was a 15.1, so my 14.9 sounds pretty good to me.....but i figure ill try all the bolt ons, and then see where im at, then start tweakin the suspension to get my 60ft down

I ran 13's with very few mods. Just an OR Pipe, Pullies, K&N, Mufflers, and a BS Shelf Chip, that is with a nice launch on Drag Radials, but it is not that hard at all.

PI intake and PI cams would do a lot... and both are proven mods.

yes, but like i said, the rents are being anal about modding this car after what happened to my last one (first blew the 4cyl motor taking it from 95rwhp to 235 dyno proven hp on nitrous, then put a 302 in it with every bolt on imaginable and forged pistons, hellish cam, and 1.7 rockers, went through a tank every two days and was louder than a jet at WOT) so i cant let them see me working on it, and every mod has to be able to be done and running right within a few hours

there is not point in burning off street tires that are made out of a harder rubber.
