I installed an off road pipe yesterday and noticed that on the 1-2 WOT shift I hit the rev limiter. I didn't have this issue before and was wondering if the exhaust change is somehow responsible. Situation is not going to be critical as I will be installing the AEM shortly and I can change the stock AODE setting. Just curiuos if anyone else had the same issue.

In theory, the cats could have been a bottleneck with your blower pushing all that air, and now you're simply accelerating faster.

That's what was in the back of my mind. Some time ago when I was running 4:10 gears a few peeps were wondering why I wasn't hitting the limiter. IIRC the theory was the stock eec shift point compensated for the shift lag associated with the 3:27 gears but the shift kit shortened the lag enough so the limit wasn't reached. Now because the rpm's may be increasing at a faster rate the limit is reached before the shift completes even with the shift kit. Does that make sense?

Sounds like a great theory to me also - if the tires start to slip you'll get up in the revs faster also.

Wes

EDIT: How are you able to go WOT 1-2 without spinning on a blower AND a stall anyways? :-D

You meaning spinning in 2nd. Sticky tires? The one thing I've noticed is that there isn't any noise when the tires are spinning, lots of smoke though. The shift into 2nd produces a chirp but the tires seem to be well planted.

I'm with ya, w/ a stall, there is no way I can floor my car in first w/ the drag radials. I've got to have the ET Street bias ply tires on and they have to be HOT to have a chance.

Keep me posted how the AEM goes.

I'll do that. The AEM install along with the 42 lb injectors, Walbro GSS340 255 lph fuel pump, relocation of the ACT sensor and AEM 3.5 Bar MAP is slated for the week of May 5th. I installed the ZT-2 WB data logger the other day. I also have but don't plan on using is a 90mm LMAF. It's my understanding that the MAP sensor is a better way of dealing with air flow.
