Dang I messed up the headline...

I admit - I drive too much. I have an 05 GT, some mods with 80,000 miles. (mostly highway - life took me cross country and back and forth and back...)

Anyway, have some money to spend and want to be re-impassioned with my toy.

Would you consider this a lost cause because of the miles? I'd like to supercharge it, looking at the Roushcharger for there's a dealer here in Denver but hesitate for the reason above.

What do you say? And please, I can't be the ONLY one with miles like this.

For the record, other than a broken fog lamp switch I've had ZERO mechanical problems Hope that makes some of you smile.

The long term reliability hasn't really come into play because most new stangs 05+ haven't been on the road long enough. However, the 3-valve has been in the F150 (5.4L) for a while now with a proven reliability record. The 3-valve with variable cam timing has been around since 03 I believe.

I'd say go for it, the aluminum block on these cars is supposed to be the strongest yet for the mustang 4.6. If you're worried, go conservative boost and upgrade the internals. Glad to hear that you are still enjoying your car with no major problems!

Id roush charger, I dont forsee any problems with the setup, As long as youve followed the maintinence to the tee over the last 3 years and havnt "Fast and Furious'd " the car, then ya... NO problem at all. Go with a low boost option for a while save for some internals and later down the road rebuild the internals and go higher boost. I know guys with the 2 valves that have over 120,xxx with NEW KBs and there running strong. Good luck and its always nice to hear the GOOD stories mustang owners have PROBLEM FREE 80,xxx miles sounds GREAT !
