331 Stroker, #4 cyl I believe <firewall, drivers side> all other plugs were fine, though one wasn't even finger tight

Should I expect it to happen again? or any ideas of what made it happen?

It was pinging pretty harshly beforehand, which I think I'm safe in assuming this was the problem, lol

Probably just a fluke experience. Not something to happen on a regular basis. The crush ring doesn't look that bad. Probably just missed getting good torque on it. That is a hard plug to get into.

The former owner of this car wasn't real happy about tightening bolts it seems... 7 of the lower intake bolts were less than finger tight, and one plug was less than finger tight.... The heads were the only thing tourqed properly I think, lol.

Sounds like you have your work cut out for you checking out the rest of the car before something major happens due to a loose bolt. Good Luck

why would the ground strap look like that if it was loose? make sure those are the right plugs for those heads.

that and check to make sure your throttle blade screws are still in.

It looks like the ground strap hit the electrode grounding it out and melting it.

Well the heads are coming off, so I'll see what it looks like in there... Head gasket(s) blew
