I'm using a 600 vac sec 4-bbl with side-hung fuel bowls on my 302. Holley says that the center hung bowls are better than side-hung for road racing. I know that Holley offers a conversion kit to change them on a 600 VS to center hung bowls like the 750 VS model but they want almost $200 for the kit. From the looks of the kit its just new bowls and gaskets.

So before i pull my carb and try it, does any know if it's possible to take the bowls from a 750 VS (which I have) and bolt them up to a 600 VS.

You can swap them over, but of course the center hung bowls will require the use of a dual feed fuel line, because that little aluminum fuel feed tube on the 600's stock bowls won't work with the other bowls. Make sure you get center hung bowls from a vac secondary carb, or else the secondary bowl accelerator pump setup holes will be drilled. You should also install the little vent baffles and if you plan on dragging the car, upgrade to the jetted secondary metering block and install some secondary jet extensions, too. The vent baffles will prevent fuel from spilling into the intake manifold during hard cornering or accelerating, and the secondary jet extensions will prevent the motor from starving during hard acceleration.

P.S. What I never liked about that 600 carb is the lack of main jets in the secondaries, I don't like messing with that metering plate.
The Holley metering block/center hung bowl upgrade kit for the 600 comes with all these little useful details.
