Holley systemax intake with 3/8 spacer

I will be swapping out my performer intake this winter for a Systemax. I have a set of fabricated valve covers I would also like to run but cant without a 3/8" spacer. Now I have seen this done many times but in every case a aftermarket cowl type hood was used, but have a stocker. I have no intentions on swapping the hood out just to run a set of valve covers! So has anyone seen this done, or did it themselves? I did have a 3/8" spacer on my edelbrock at one point and it did hit one of the ribs on the hood, that is until I flattend it out! Just kinda tying to get a plan before I take it apart and have the AN fittings welded in the fabbed covers and if it wont work just weld them in a set of stockers.

There are fabbed covers out that will clear shaft mount or large stud rockers and clear a Holley without a spacer. John Gottera made a set for a buddy of mine that ran P/S and we fit his Jesels under then just fine. I think he still has the covers if you may be interested?

You can also machine or grind the large area that overhangs the valve cover flat instead of the big round area, alittle goes a long way to add clearance and you can not tell it was done and it wont hurt the intake one bit.
