Holly/Weiand/Lunati Kit from Jegs???

First things first, I have absolutely no experience in building engines. I have a '67 with a 289 2 bbl and C4, Pertronix Ignitor 2 and the better of the two Pertronix coils. Will have full exhaust including tri-y's soon. The car is my daily driver and most likely won't see the strip or the track.

Is the below kit appropriate for what my car does?

are you planning on doing the camshaft and lifters yourself? the holley 600 and weiand stealth intake are what im planning on as soon as i get some money...though that means nothing really lol but heres a bump for you so guys who know more about this than I do will get a look at it

5.0StangRacer - Not sure wether I'm going to try to do the cam and lifters myself or have somone do it for me... I'm assuming you have to pull the engine to put in the cam, and if that is the case I'll probably have to take it in to get'er done, unfortunately.

you can do all of that with the engine in the car. Just take out the grill and hood and go for it. Heck you do not have to take the hood off but it makes it easier.

Don't forget the radiator, water pump, timing cover, gears, chain, distributor, intake manifold, carb, etc., not to mention proper break in of cam.

One thing that stands out about that kit, is the chrome fuel line that's included. It DOES NOT fit the carb that's included. Which tells me some novice had a hand in putting the kit together, or someone's trying to unload parts on unsuspecting customers. The kit includes a Holley list #80457 which is a single feed, vacuum secondary carb. The fuel line fits dual feed, double pumper Holley carbs. You may also run into valve spring problems with that cam. The exhaust lift is right at the limit for stock springs. If you get that cam, you really need new springs to match. Especially since yours are thirty something years old.
