man did i ever have a scare last night witht the saleen...I was gettig onto the highway on ramp and I floored it from 3rd and went to bang it into 4th at redline and when i reached fourth my car starting banging...I thought maybe i missed the gear so I made sure I was in Neutral and the car is just banging constantly off the redline for abotu 15secs.. I was like WTF...I realized taht when i floored the car the pedal got stuck on my floor mat and it kept it pinned down...So I realize that I got lucky as of right now that I didnt blow the motor up and all is runnign fine now but do you think it may have caused any damaged that I may feel in a few days or so if I get inot boost or soemthing? I get scared if I ever hit rev limiter period let alone for abotu 15 secs straight!!

That has happened to me about 6 or 7 times and it never caused any problems....just make sure every now and then that you make sure ur carpet is moved back on that little hole thing..

oh man.

6 or 7 times. This is why I drive with a thin rubber floor mat cut to fit. This happened to Dan a while back in his S351 and he got lucky as well.

This has actually happened to me quite a few times as well. Thank heavens the rev limiter works like a charm... My problem is that the little "hook" that goes through the eyelet on the mat is gone. It is the stock S281 mat, but it moves up on me b/c the hook is missing. I'm constantly reaching down to pull the mat back. What a pain in the arse. I'd like to get new mats and carpet (even thought the carpet is just fine in the car). Does anyone know if you can get that "hook" by itself and put it back in?

The hook itself does not have a part num on it and you can get it at any Ford dealer.
