Home porting guys come in with tips and tricks....

i've looked into this for myself, i just hate doing my first job on my "good heads," i'd rather try it first on some old heads, then work on mine. I DID find some cutaway pictures of some GT-40p heads that showed how much you could port before you hit the waterjackets and stuff.

Its been so long ago but to the best of my memory, here is what I did on E7's :)

Reduce the I vg by about half its original size. You can shape it kinda like a tear drop to help air flow btw.

Take the E vg down flush with the roof

Take the thermactor bump down flush with the roof

Raise the E port roof a good bit. IIRC, mine were close to straight with very little dip in the roof.

Widen the E port a good bit

Don't hose around with the floors of either ports

Don't touch the short turn radius

Smooth the bowl transitions to the ports

Polish the chambers

If using the stock valves, have them back cut for a bit more flow

Just work on the first I & E port, bowl, & chamber until you are satisfied.

Take measurements, make notes, etc and then

Just do that same thing seven more times :D

Trust me ... Lotta Work ;)

Ain't worth it to me :nono:
