Im about to make my own this weekend and had a couple quesions. Do i have to buy a K&N Filter for this or can i just use the one that came with my MAC CAI? if i buy a K&N what size am i looking for?? Exactly how much PVC Pipe will i need?

Is there a way you can screw your current filter to your TB? If so you can keep it. For the pipe... I couldnt find anywhere that would sell a 1' section which is about all you'll need... Everyone only sold 4' pieces. The length of everyones is going to be different, just depends on how far you want it to stick in the fender

i think you meant maf 1105. anyways, buy 3" pipe so you'll need a 3" opening on the K&N, the rest i don't think matters. I'd buy at least 1.5' i think mine was longer than 1 foot. 4 screws and ur good

edit: oh yea, and unless u have a filter that goes on the oil 'air line' thing, ur probably gonna need a 3/8? nipple?

I just used two 3" fernco pieces from home depot. You'll have to tighten it down more on the MAF and TB, but it works fine... If you're looking to make it look real nice, measure the TB and MAF to get the diameter, then get a 3" to say 2.5" reducer.

could you post pics of your progress, been wanted to build cai also, but dont really know where to begin.

if u buy everything we've said here, then take an hour or two one weekend, open up the hood and rip out everything before the throttle body it'll become very apparent as to what u need to do.

TB -> 3" to 3" fernco -> 1-2' of PVC -> 5/8? hole for the iat (i used white hose tape to wrap it) -> 3" to 3" fernco on other side of pvc -> stock maf -> 4 screws for the maf to filter -> filter (3" inlet)

and there is your whole cai system (BTW, get a stand alone filter for the oil line- much better and prettier)

what do you mean by that? do you have a picture?

i'll see if i can find a pic online, i know a few guys on here run them. all i mean by 'stand alone' is that it doesn't attatch anywhere but the oil inlet and it's just a cylindrical piece with a filter around the circumference... this will hopefully make more sence when i find a pic

Thanks to GTJake for the pic

so normally a air line runs to the oil inlet tube but not with this thing on there. and a pic of the CAI to boot!
