I think this thread has run its course. The last thing we need is a penis wagging contest about how fast you went on a public road/highway/freeway/etc.
All it takes is a small piece of debris or the failure of a $2 part and you become a statistic. Hopefully your ass clownery doesn't make a statistic of anyone else.
140 mph is 205 feet per second. To think you can drive safely at that rate on public road (ie condition unknown) is a serious error in judgment.
Consider the affect of a rock, tree branch, dead animal, car part (I've seen a a spark plug in a tire during a track session), or any of the other numerous things that can be found on a road.
Consider the affect of any number of parts that could fail on your car
Consider the affect of the many number of situations that could lead to another vehicle, pedestrian, bicyclist, etc
The jails and courts are full of people who didn't think about these possibilities before seeing what their mass produced, assembly line, assembled with cheap parts, performance car could do
