This morning I tried to open the hood and the freakin handle from inside broke. Is there a way to open the hood now? What are my next steps in fixing the handle or the cable. Any ideas? Has anyone experienced this before?

Where do you grab the cable from? On mine the cable broke off the tip of the handle?

Has anyone replaced their busted hood cable? Is it hard or easy? I'm thinking about going to the local junkyard and getting a replacement.

You can pop the hood from outside -- once you do it a couple times you'll be able to do it without looking. Your first time, lay under the nose of the car and look up at the latch. There is a tab that the cable goes into on the latch -- just reach up and pull it over just like the cable would.

89MustangGX, I'm assuming that this happened to you also? Is the tab easy to see without getting under the car?

Never broke on me, but my last car never had a cable after it was all put back together.

You can't see it at all without getting underneath the car. The first time you will have to get under there -- then once you see where you're going you won't have to anymore, just do it by feel. But you will need to see it first.
