Try adjusting the part that is bolted to the frame. Loosen the bolts and play with it. Also get some hood pins. Too many hoods flying up and damaging cars around here. They could save yours or somebody elses life.

for ultimate security I'd want the latch and pins, though there are a # of people here with pin on hoods.

I had this same problem with my glass cowl hood. the problem in your case is more than likely it is not lined up with the latch front to back wise, or even left to right. It may be lined up with the car lines, but it's not with the latch, and that's why it's not closing right. Try unbolting the hood from the firewall and shut it, you should be able to shut it in the right spot where it will fully grab. If that works, then your not lined up right.

I know some people dont like the idea of drilling holes in their 400 dollar hood, but believe me install hood pins and screw the latch. Itll save you MUCH trouble in the future.

My hood latched perfectly when I installed my cowl hood. I drove it for a month with no problems. Even went 120+mph's. One day I was crusing at 45 and the hood flew up.

So if you want my .2 cents buy some hood pins. They are great insurance.

thansk alot i am going to take the hood off and see if i can lay it down and see if it latches, it seems flush though, if not i guess off to the body shop, by the way my car has been sitting for a year, and i noticed that it give off a fume smelll, i dont have cats, do you think this is from sitting, and one last thing my battery inducator fluctuates as i spress on the gas , is this normal

When you press on the gas it spins the alternator faster and that gives out more charge. When the car idles down the charge will also slightly decrease. You pretty much get the fume smells if exhaust mods are done to the car. You'll get use to them. Just make sure it isn't a gas leak. (injectors, lines, tank)
