Anyone find a clever way to duplicate this look without buying the repro hood? Maybe louvers that can be molded, or welded (prefer) in? Thanks!

Try putting the A/C-Cobra fender vents into a hood?

Just a thought.

If you have a fg hood already, I can get just the vents if you want to glass them in. I have a local guy one step ahead of you on his 65 vert.

The other option is MR has that option on many of their hoods. They are running a little behind 3-4 weeks.

You can glass them in on a fiberglass hood, but I wouldn't try it on a metal one. Not sure what you got. If you have a metal hood you could get some louvers punched out on it.

Do you have pics of what you are using and why wouldn't you glass them to steel? It seems pretty common to use glass on steel.

This might be a great idea. They sell for $75 and are about the right size. I'm checking it out.

The metal expands and contracts at different rates than fiberglass. No matter what you do, it's destined to crack.

Your best bet for a scoop is using something like norton speed grip and bonding it on. They creating a weight/relief line so if it cracks, it will crack inside that line.

The thickness of these parts are way thicker than the sheet metal. It would require that you cut out the square holes and glass them in. I can see how you could blend it without it looking like a big lump on your hood.
