Just purchased a 2005 s281sc and when I hit about 80 the hood lifts up a little bit. The previous owner said there was a recall on this and that it was worse before he had the recall done. Does anyone have any info on whether you can tighten the latch?

It is not the latch so dont bother with that. The Saleen hoods for 05+ are notorious for "Flutter" at higher speeds. I was told it was because the amount of air that is allowed to enter into the engine bay from the different fascia is a lot more than Ford had and it causes the aluminum hoods to do that.

I had the Saleen Fix applied to the hood and it didn't change a thing. Ultimately, I had to raise the hood bumpers as high as they would go but still let the hood close. I still get a little movement, but no where near the movement I was getting after getting the "fix."

Yea,

Those hoods are floaty.

Foxbody cars can be driven over 130 mph all day and I never see the stock hood move around. My carbon fiber hood on my 95 R-Code used to bow a little over 100 mph also.

It must be the set up on my fox body because it feels a lot more stable at high speed than my 2006 S281 S/C did and that was with the 9's and 10's and P-Zeros.

If you will recall, I sold the rims to you w/o the caps. I contacted you at a later date and stated I found them and would send them to you when I got a chance. However, after the 50 or so text messages you sent me that I had to pay for, I decided not to.

YOu are so full of it Billy. I text you once a week and not once did you text me, e-mail me or call me to at least tell me to forget it. The logical thing would have been to just contact me whne you realized you were never going to send them, not just blow me off after offering the centercaps while I waited in good faith.
No communication efforts were set forth on your behalf to just let me know you decided to keep them, that is all I would have wanted to hear.
p.s
I would never text anyone 50 times, I did however text you once a week for 2 months or so.

I want to thank you for the gorgeous wheels, yet wish you told me how you felt after the 1st text instead of giving me the run around.

cheers Billy.
