Im thinkin about buying the hood pins on americanmuscle.com.. the appearance ones. is there anything i would need to know about installing them? just line em up and press down? or is there something else.. discuss

Ever see a hood fly open at high speed,i have, not my ride, but someone elses. That is a good enough reason for me.I haven't done it yet,but i'm still debating before i screw my stangs, cowl, windshield, and front portion of the roof. :nonono:
It really isn't a bad investment with the aftermarket hoods.

well my hood isnt aftermarket.. and yes ive been in a car where the hood flew open. 83 gti, pos. not the reason id get them tho, i have confidence in the stock latch. ive hit 140 with no probs.. and i wolnt be doing that again for a long time anyways

yea, i scared the hood might come up too. ive had a real set sitting in my closet for 2 urs now. i just have to get them installed. i like the look of NO hood pins the best, but hood pins look ok on certain cars.

hood pins expensive? theyre frigging 40$ for the ones i have off of mustangsunlimited.

and the stock hood is fiberglass, and the latch area is a metal flange thats just attached to the fiberglass. have you ever driven at 100mph doing upwind? seriously about 1/2" of hood travel from the wind, first thing i did when i got home was get pins, and that was before the whole eleanor theme.

as for using fake ones, no. if youre gonna **** up your hood(well, at least the paint), might as well do it right and **** it up for a good reason.

Anyone got pics of hood pins? I had a hood on a camry fly up on me on the freeway...absolutely nuts, just like the movies. BOOM, its up, then clink, its gone...never want to go through that again. I hate how much my hood moves, the damn scoop has to be the culprit.

These are the only hood pins I will ever buy. Sooo sexy.
