I jus ordered my 4" cowl from cervinis and its a lift off.. what is the best places for pins, should i use 4, and should i get the locking ones.. basically dont want my hood damaged or flying off lol..

I'd be looking for a Zeus fasteners as opposed to pins. They're quick locks that are fastened and unfastened with a flat screw driver and are flush with the panel surface.

yeah i would look in the one mentioned above. the hood pins cause straches and dont look good after a year or so. they start to rust and stuff

Rust depends on which brand you go with. The Mr. Gasket pins are notorious for being cheap pieces of crap, as far as rust-resistance goes. I think Moroso has a nicer set out there for not much more dough.

I just installed Mr Gasket pins on my SVO hood, easy job, just remember measure twice..cut once. I used a "unibit" on the hood..the job was rediculously easy and quick...one drill from pilot to finish size. I can see pins rusting after some time...however for the price of them, replacement would not be an issue at all cost wise.

try attaching pin to hood hinge with greas on the tip...get under the car and raise the hinge until the pin contacts the hood...BAM locator for the pilot hole. Same basic premise you use to locate the holes for the front pins.
