My car had hood pins and a latch inside the car...so i took out the hood latch but now i'm kinda afraid of the hood flying up since i only have hood pins holding it down...is there any extra precautions i can take to make sure that my hood pins will indeed hold the hood down? or should i just stop bein a puss and jus go with it lol

If your hood pins can't hold it down....you've got bigger issues....they will hold, and then some.

They will be fine as long as they are in place. Just remember that some people like to take them out so unless you check every time you go somewhere I might suggest some of the locking ones or some sort of backup such as the stock safety latch. You can disconnect the regular latch and leave the safety in place.

why did you remove the metal latch? that's the reason most hoods fly up is because the latch has be removed i think ... or if someone forgets to check that they closed the hood all the way after they opened to check on something is another.

I hear the same story over and over. A guy works on or looks at his engine, forgets to put the hood pins back on, drives with the hood pins off without realizing it, and his hood flies up when doing 60 mph, damaging lots of stuff.

If I were you, I'd put the stock latch back on, because there's always a chance that you'll forget to put the hood pins on.

I haven't had a hood latch on my car for about 4 years now. Have yet to have the hood fly-up or forgot to put the pins in. I do have the safety latch as well, but the metal latch for releasing the hood is gone..
