Hey there all.. I'm getting the Stalker Ram Air hood (it came with the Stalker body kit package by Cervinis) Anywhoo... I wanted to ask if I have to worry about water getting in thru the two ducts on the hood... my cold air intake is by steeda and it has a sheild over top of it and my hood scoops (ducts) aren't too close it it.. they're mainly over the middle of the engine.. maybe 3 inchs away from the pony on the engine.. but around that area.. the kit comes with 2 aluminum grates that I'm going to use so and myabe paint black becuase I'm getting that Mach grille delete keeping it all black mostly... if someone can respond to this ASAP becuase I want to make sure I'll be ok with water getting in while it's raining/being washed... thanks a lot guys.

Plus I'm getting different Mods such as a roush sway bar, and steeda pullies along with that steeda cold air intake.. can someone let me know if I'll be cool? I've been stressing over this and hopefully someone will come thru on these forums to help me get it outta my hair.. Thanks again guys.

You will be fine...

No need to panic.

Have fun with the body kit!

Be prepared: you will get a lot of stares!

BTW I got a dual scoop CERVINI hood on my 94, so I know for sure.. there is no problems.

Also... you know you can buy a RAM air kit... which cost like $200 from Cervinis as well!

Hey TenaciousD.. did you just paint the underside and also did you *not* buy a cover for under it (one of those black paper-like under cover)? Because all I'm doing is simply painting under it and leaving as be.

Well.. you said you had no probs with your hood right? So basically I should be ok without that cover for under it correct? I think that's what I'm getting outta all this LOL

I saw one at a car dealer and the water going into the engine messed up the ignition. If you start to get water down around the coils, you will have problems. Just ask the guys that have washed their engines with a hose and then it either would not start or it skipped a lot. As for the guys that have them and it is fine, well..... you can't knock success. But I personally have seen one that messed up. I also don't see why somebody would want to run it open. I guess it could remove some hot air out of the car. But a stock car won't realize any benefit; as the engine was designed to run in a closed environment.

My guess is that it will run fine if the coils are sealed good. But expect to have some metals parts start to rust in the engine compartment.

I have a similar hood and I run mine closed. Dry is good IMHO. I have a CAI kit so my engine gets cold intake air.

Enjoy the new hood. It will get a lot of looks. Too many at times!

What could I use to plug them? The kit didn't come with anything except 2 aluminum grates that I'm having painted black.. I want to use the aluminum grates still.. but any ideas on what to use to plug the open holes with the grates?

you dont want to plug the hole it will look stupid, plus your car will resplond alot better to all the extra air being pushed under your hood, as for water getting in, i've had mine for almost 2yrs no problem.
