I'm looking for a hood scoop for my 93 GT.
Can't seem to find anything but aftermarket cowl hoods.
I see the Mach 1 style hood scoops, but only for the '94 and up models.
I do plan on repainting my car, but it will be another year or so down the road.
I need something to set the stock hood off, it just looks too....well plain.
I would buy a cowl hood, but I really like the way a small hood scoop looks on the Fox's, and there is no way to color match the paint (because it is a custom mixed color).
Anybody got any suggestions on where to get a Mach 1/Ram Air style hood scoop?

Two basic options that won't look too horrible on an aero car. You can get the early 4 eye scoop like my car has, or you can get an aftermarket Cougar Eliminator scoop. http://www.cougarpartscatalog.com/69scoop.html

I would opt for the 4 eye scoop because it's already contoured to fit a Fox hood the right way and besides drilling holes, it's a bolt on job. The only issue is that the "factory cowl" section on the stock hood is shaped differently from the early 4 eye cars so it looks a little funny, but not terrible.

Oh, i guess you could also go with a Boss 429 scoop, but they sit up pretty high and might be a little obnoxious on a Fox.

I used a scoop from an '04 GT on this '87 vert. Fit great and flowed perfectly with the lines in the cowl. Picked it up from a junk yard for $50bucks I believe.
I have since sold this car but here's the best pics I can find on my computer.

In this pic you can see how it lines up with the fox cowl nicely.

Thanks guys. That cougar scoop looked decent, but the 4-eye scoop looks a little too big for my taste. And i would love some pics if you could find em 89SSC18

Hey thanks man. That thing looks sweet. Not really a fan of orange (HUGE Gamecock fan) but I'm really diggin the way it pops on that Fox. Is that one of the stock scoops from an '04?

Brother's Performance has, "Stick On" scoops that you could put on virtually ANY car.

Go to their website and click on the link for their V6 Project car. There you will find a video that shows the application of one of these things.

That's probably the best looking scoop i've seen on an aero nose car. Looks like Ford put it there.

I hated it the minute I was done with it. I swapped on a Cervini's Air Extractor hood within six months.
