Need some ideas about how to create a working hood scoop. I have a Mach 1 hood scoop on my 67. I would like the scoop to open during the nice sunny days to let air straight into the carb (of course it’s protected by the air filter). I would like to close the scoop off during the rainy days. Any ideas? Could I use some type of vacuum module? Need some type of switch for ON/off….

This was actually done by Ford with the 68 428CJ Stangs. Same scoop. It wasn't carried over to 69, but was replaced with the shaker hood and scoop. You just need a stock style filter bottom, with an open element top, then seal the bottom rim tov the hood, cut out a hole under the scoop, then rig a flapper door for the scoop opening.

Thanks for the reply. Do you any ideas about how to rig the door for the scoop to open and close? I would like to be able to open or close as needed.
