Has anyone ever installed a hood skin on a late model Mustang. They are usually held on with either Dzus fasteners or hood pins. The hood skin is usually one layer thick and used mainly for racing as it is very light. I have a 01 GT with a Cobra R hood. I understand a hood skin may be available in that configuration possibly even made out of carbon fibre.

Anybody have any ideas,....

It's just a hood, but thinner, like he says, held on with pins instead of hinged like the stocker. Like the hoods the NASCAR guys use.

That's the idea,.....anybody have any ideas where these might be available? I think they are a great idea,....lighter for sure, and you just lift them right off to work in the engine compartment. Perhaps not the greatest thing for an everyday driver, but for the weekend track car or show car I think it would be great!
